Once, she had lived happily with her owner for 17 years, but as he grew older, he could no longer care for her as before. Though he managed to send her oats down a chute each day, Gidget’s world became one of silence and isolation. Human or animal, she hadn’t encountered another soul in years.
But then, everything changed. A sanctuary named Mockingbird Farm, founded by a compassionate woman named Jonell Chudyk, learned of Gidget’s situation. Since 2015, Mockingbird Farm Sanctuary has been a refuge for farm animals in need of love and companionship. At 29 years old, Gidget finally found a place to experience the connection she had missed for so long.
