Trump Sports Garbage Worker Vest at Rally in Key Swing State, Criticizes Biden's 'Garbage' Remark
At a rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin, just days before the election, Donald Trump appeared in a high-visibility vest typically worn by sanitation workers, driving home a message in response to a controversial comment from President Joe Biden. Trump used the opportunity to address his supporters, positioning himself as a candidate who respects hard-working Americans and calling out his opponents' rhetoric.
With only days remaining until the November 5 election, Donald Trump held a rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where he made a notable entrance in a dump truck and wore a high-visibility vest commonly worn by sanitation workers. His attire and arrival were a response to President Joe Biden, who recently referred to some Trump supporters as "garbage" in a comment that quickly sparked backlash.
Addressing thousands of supporters, Trump explained that his decision to don the vest was spontaneous, adding humorously that it made him look thinner and might become a wardrobe staple. "When they said I’d look thinner, I said, in that case, I’ll wear it onstage," Trump joked. "I may never wear a blue jacket again."
Throughout the rally, Trump targeted Biden, Democrats, and his main opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, accusing them of running a campaign marked by “hate, vitriol, and retribution.” Referencing a recent comment by Harris in which she likened her political opponents to historical villains, Trump called it evidence of divisiveness. “This week, Kamala has been comparing her opponents to some of the most evil figures in history, and now Joe Biden has finally said what he thinks about our supporters, calling them ‘garbage,’” Trump said.
The former president also drew a comparison to the “deplorables” remark made by Hillary Clinton in 2016, suggesting that Biden’s “garbage” comment was even more severe. “My response to Joe and Kamala is very simple: you can’t lead America if you don’t love Americans,” he said. “You can’t be president if you hate the American people, which I believe they do. And Kamala Harris is not fit to be president of the United States.”
Casting himself as a unity candidate, Trump described his supporters as representing the “heart and soul of America.” He then took a moment to recognize the nation’s sanitation workers, acknowledging their dedication. “I want to thank all of our sanitation workers across America because they work hard. They really do work hard, and they don’t get the credit they deserve,” he added.
The rally continued with Trump taking a swipe at Harris for mentioning him 24 times during her recent speech in Washington, D.C. He suggested that her campaign had bused in supporters to increase attendance. Trump closed by expressing gratitude for former astronaut Buzz Aldrin’s recent endorsement, affirming that his movement represented a vast coalition committed to his vision for America.
