Lizards are the most commonly seen reptiles in backyards. They are most closely related to snakes. Actually, some lizards, called sheltopusiks, look like snakes because they have no legs. Since they live high in the trees, they eat a diet of insects that live there, too. Unfortunately, deforestation and climate change have hurt the numbers of Maned Forest Lizards. Consequently, they are on the ICUN Red List of Threatened Species.
