An Artist Creates Incredible Sculptures Made Of Driftwood (Pictures & Video)
Pete Rush is and Australian artist and author, who had no idea about the phenomenon. And He famed for his site-specific sculptures. He worked with naturally sourced local materials. Pete Rush creates larger than life sculptures which reflect their location and comment on broader topics such as mental health, history, environmental wellbeing and community themes.
His first site-specific sculpture – a three dimensional riderless Anzac horse created with driftwood – was at Terrigal Lagoon. It instantly drew local crowds, media coverage and professional photographers were keen to capture its beauty in-situ amongst the Terrigal landscape. Artist Pete Rush impulsively made a simple horse sculpture on a Terrigal beach from natural materials – the response from locals was so positive, it inspired him to create a seaside menagerie that includes horses and megafauna. Rush doesn't use any wire or string in his work, just driftwood, flax and seaweed, and he tries not to disturb natural vegetation.
