Oscar-Winner Lupita Nyong'o Adopts Shelter Cat After Break-Up: "Yoyo is saving me"

Rescuing an animal gives you a wonderful feeling. You feel like a hero in your own little world. This doesn't change the world, but it changes an animal's world. Even the biggest celebrities have had their lives change by bringing home a shelter pet.

Recently, Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong'o became the latest celeb to bring home a rescue cat. While the star says she used to be afraid of cats, her new pet has been just what she needed. On October 28, the Black Panther actress shared an Instagram post announcing that she adopted a cat named Yoyo from Best Friends Adoption Center. Nyong'o had been fostering the shelter cat, but knew after three days that she "could not give him up" and officially adopted him.
