Oscar-Winner Lupita Nyong'o Adopts Shelter Cat After Break-Up: "Yoyo is saving me"

Rescuing an animal gives you a wonderful feeling. You feel like a hero in your own little world. This doesn't change the world, but it changes an animal's world. Even the biggest celebrities have had their lives change by bringing home a shelter pet.

"I am reminded that the magnitude of the pain I am feeling is equal to the measure of my capacity for love," she wrote on October 19. "And so, I am choosing to face the pain, cultivating the courage to meet my life exactly as it is, and trusting that this too shall pass." It seems that adopting a cat was the perfect way to get over the bad breakup, and Nyong'o is now a proud cat mom.
