Pregnant dog who had ear cut off and was shot 17 times has now qualified as a therapy dog

“She doesn’t need eyes because she’s learned to see with her heart.” Those are the words of Kasey Carlin, who recently adopted a dog known to many as Maggie the Wunderdog. Maggie has no eyes after enduring unimaginable abuse, but her story of recovery is definitely wonderful. Now she helps heal everyone around her as a therapy dog.

Carlin says that Maggie exudes calming energy and seems to know somehow exactly what those around her need. When asked to describe the most amazing thing about Maggie, Carlin said: "I can't say just one. Her confidence, love, ability to forgive? The way she 'looks' straight into the face of whoever she meets. The way she gives her entire heart to strangers. Her calming aura? The way she instantly knows how to act with different people depending on their needs and abilities," Carlin said.
