On Thursday, October 17, Cutler, 41, was arrested for driving under the influence in Franklin, Tennessee, and booked into the Williamson County Jail, according to TMZ. Along with the DUI charge, he faces multiple violations including failure to exercise due care, refusal to comply with implied consent laws, and possession of a handgun while intoxicated. According to the report, Cutler rear-ended another vehicle and appeared intoxicated when stopped by authorities. Although he refused a field sobriety test, police obtained a blood sample at a local hospital. His blood-alcohol level at the time of arrest has been publicly disclosed.

In the days leading up to the incident, Cutler had been on a deer hunting trip in Kentucky, which he documented on social media.

"Last night, I ran up to Kentucky," Cutler shared in a video posted on Instagram on Wednesday, October 16. "The weather cooled down, pressure was high, and the deer I had been tracking showed up the last two nights. With the temperature drop, I figured they might come out earlier."

Cutler, who was hunting for a 5-and-a-half-year-old whitetail deer known as Slim, shared the moment he successfully shot the deer.

"He came out early, around 5:15 a.m.," Cutler continued in the video. "He was chasing some does across the field, ran off a few younger bucks, and came back into range around 6:00. That's when I got him."

The deer, which Cutler's apparel brand Outsider had tracked for years, weighed 185 pounds.

"Lucky night in Kentucky for Jay!," read the caption from the Instagram post by Outsider, which specializes in outdoor lifestyle products.

Unfortunately, Cutler’s luck ran out the following day when he found himself behind bars. He was released on bond after several hours.

Cutler, who runs the outdoor-focused brand Outsider, has built a community around celebrating the outdoors with content and products ranging from hats and drinkware to sweatshirts and accessories.

He shares three children, Camden, 12, Jaxon, 10, and Saylor, 8, with his ex-wife, reality star Kristin Cavallari. The two were married from 2013 to 2020 and share joint custody of their kids.
