This will be Harris’ first interview with a network traditionally seen as ideologically opposed to her political views since becoming the Democratic vice presidential nominee. Harris has previously sat down with major networks like CNN and CBS’ “60 Minutes,” as well as more favorable platforms like ABC’s “The View” and Howard Stern’s radio show.
In recent weeks, Harris has ramped up her media presence, a change from her earlier strategy of limiting interviews. Many of these interviews have taken place within the last two weeks, highlighting a shift in approach as Election Day approaches. The interview with Fox News will air at 6 p.m. ET on Wednesday. Baier, the network’s chief political anchor, is known for his less partisan approach, distancing himself from Fox’s more conservative commentators. Harris faced earlier criticism during her campaign for avoiding media interviews. However, in recent days, she has been more vocal, using her appearances to take aim at Republican nominee Donald Trump. Speaking in Greenville, N.C., on Sunday, Harris criticized Trump for withholding his medical records and refusing to participate in a “60 Minutes” interview.
“You have to wonder: What are they hiding?” Harris remarked. “Why is his team keeping him away from the public eye? Is it because they fear he’s too weak and unstable to lead this country?” On Monday, Trump responded by attacking both Harris and Fox News on social media, accusing the network of becoming “weak” and too lenient on Democrats.
