Scarlett Johansson Shares Spa Day with Senior Shelter Dog Ocean
Longtime animal advocate Scarlett Johansson recently teamed up with Muddy Paws Rescue in New York City to bring a bit of joy to a special dog named Ocean. Ocean, a 12-year-old pittie mix, had been pulled from an overcrowded shelter and was waiting patiently for a forever family. Determined to help the sweet senior pup, Scarlett invited her on a "blind date"—and the two hit it off immediately.

The day started with Scarlett bringing Ocean a bouquet of red-stuffed roses, a playful gift that Ocean promptly grabbed and shredded with enthusiasm. "So far, the date has been going really well," Scarlett told The Dodo. "At first, we were both a bit shy and nervous to meet each other, but she warmed up almost immediately. We’re having a great time getting to know one another."

Scarlett, who has two rescue dogs of her own, Maggie and Pancake, welcomed Ocean to the office of her skincare brand, The Outset, where the staff was eager to meet their furry guest. As part of their spa day, Ocean enjoyed dog-friendly hydrating treatments, a mani-pedi, and a smoothie just for pups. At one point, Scarlett even tried the classic spa move—placing cucumbers over Ocean’s eyes. However, Ocean decided the cucumbers were better suited as a snack than a beauty treatment!

By the end of the playful date, it was clear that Scarlett and Ocean had bonded. Scarlett couldn’t understand why a dog as affectionate and lovable as Ocean hadn’t already found a family. “I don’t think you’re going to have any trouble finding a forever home because you’re incredibly adorable and very cuddly—and that’s what we all want,” Scarlett said to Ocean.


Fortunately, Scarlett’s prediction came true. Shortly after their time together, Ocean was adopted into a loving home. Scarlett's efforts not only gave Ocean a memorable day but also highlighted the importance of adopting senior pets, proving that older dogs still have so much love to give.
